Religious and Spiritual Life Center opens with $1 million gift from the Noileses

Edna Truitt Noiles ’44 and her husband, Douglas, donated $1 million to endow a program in the new Vera Richardson Truitt Center for Religious and Spiritual Life, which is named in honor of Edna’s mother. The endowed program includes on-campus activities, internships and pilgrimages to historic religious sites. The program will give Elon students the chance to explore a variety of religious traditions and the spiritual dimensions of their lives.

 The Truitt Center, located at the corner of E. College and avenues across from the Academic Village, opened in August 2004. A dedication ceremony is scheduled for Oct. 11.
