As assistant director of career services, Darlene McDowell
works with students in their search for summer and full-time employment. She also builds relationships with attorneys and law firms to secure job postings and interview opportunities for students. McDowell joined Elon after working as director of recruiting and associate development with the law firm of Sands, Anderson, Marks & Miller in Richmond, Va. She managed the attorney recruiting and summer associate program for the firm, determining hiring needs and conducting interviews with candidates. McDowell has also held recruiting positions with Carolina Legal Staffing in Charlotte, N.C., the law firm of Womble, Carlyle, Sandridge & Rice in Winston-Salem, N.C., and WoodsRogers in Roanoke, Va.
