What is Private Practice?
The majority of licensed attorneys work in private practice, either in a law firm or as a solo practitioner. Attorneys can either specialize in a particular field of the law or work as general practitioner, depending on what they prefer, or if working for a law firm, what the firm needs. Attorneys work directly with their clients by advising them, preparing legal documents for them, representing them in legal proceedings, etc.
