Cullen is the author of The Leading Lawyer, A Guide to Practicing Law and Leadership (Thompson West, 2009). He is the Manager of the LinkedIn group 'Leadership for Lawyers' which has over 12,000 members. He teaches Leadership and Negotiations at Santa Clara Law School, where he has taught for 10 years.
Cullen practiced law for 20 years and was a shareholder and managing partner of Hoge, Fenton, Jones & Appel, Inc., a large San Jose based law firm. He is a mediator and arbitrator. He specializes in negotiation and mediation strategy as well as leadership for lawyers. Cullen developed and teaches one of the nation's first semester long law courses on leadership. He teaches and gives continuing education seminars on strategic negotiation and leadership for lawyers.
