Sending Email Templates

  1. Apple Mail (Mac OS X)

Apple Mail (Mac OS X)

  1. Open up the email template page that you want to send in the Safari web browser.
  2. Select from the top menu File > Mail Contents of This Page (Command + I).
  3. This should automatically open up Mail and a new message with the page template filled in.
           (if Mail doesn't open, confirm that Mail is your default email client)

     
  4. Substitute your content and images.
  5. Send.

Microsoft Outlook 2011 for Mac

  1. Open up the email template using a web browser.
  2. Hit Select All (Cmnd + A or select it from the Edit menu)
  3. Hit Copy (Cmnd + C or select it from the Edit menu)
  4. Open up Outlook and create a new email message

  1. Hit Paste (Cmnd + V)
  2. Substitute your content and images
  3. Send


Microsoft Outlook 2010 (Windows)

  1. Open up the email template using Internet Explorer (not Firefox or Chrome)
  2. Choose Flie --> Send -> Page by email...

     
  3. Outlook will start with the page in a new email box

     
  4. Substitute your content and images.
  5. Send

Microsoft Outlook 2007 (Windows)

  1. Open the webpage in Microsoft Outlook 2007, select View -> Toolbars -> Web. The web toolbar will appear.


     
  2. Using the Search web feature, enter the full URL for the email template you'd like to send.


     
  3. Select Action -> New Mail Message (CTRL + N)


     
  4. Substitute your content and images.
  5. Send.

Microsoft Outlook 2000, 2002 and 2003 (Windows)

  1. From Microsoft Outlook, you must confirm that you are able to send pictures from the internet and HTML is your message format.
    1. On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Mail Format tab.
    2. Click to select HTML in the "Send in this message format" list, and then click OK.
    3. In Microsoft Internet Explorer, on the View menu, click Internet Options. Click the Programs tab, verify that Microsoft Outlook appears in the Mail box, and click OK.
  2. Open the email template page that you want to send.
  3. On the File menu, point to Send, and then click Page By Email.
  4. A mail message that contains the page appears.
  5. In your open message, on the Format menu, click Send Pictures from the Internet. This enables the page to be viewed without being connected to the Internet.
  6. Substitute your content and images.
  7. Send.

Note: Thes are instructions for an older version of Microsoft Outlook. Most computers on campus are running Outlook 2007 (see above). Adapted from Microsoft.
