Elon University Poll to release new findings at DNC – September 3, 2012

The Elon University Institute for Politics and Public Affairs, in partnership with the Charlotte Observer and the News & Observer, is polling North Carolina registered voters on a variety of issues, as well as the presidential race and North Carolina’s gubernatorial race, as the Democratic National Convention comes to Charlotte.

Results of the poll will be released at a 10:30 a.m. news conference on Monday, September 3, in the third floor auditorium of the Charlotte Observer at 600 S. Tryon Street. All journalists covering the DNC are invited to attend.

Following a summary of findings by Elon’s poll directors, John Robinson, former editor of the News & Record in Greensboro, N.C., will moderate a panel analysis featuring political experts who include:

David Gergen, former presidential adviser, CNN political analyst, director of the Center for Public Leadership at the Harvard Kennedy School

Charlie Cook, editor of Cook Political Report & National Journal columnist

Domenico Montanaro, NBC News deputy political editor & contributor to the “First Read” blog

Anita Kumar, White House correspondent for McClatchy Newspapers

Rob Christensen, chief political writer for the News and Observer of Raleigh, author of The Paradox of Tar Heel Politics

Taylor Batten, editorial page editor for the Charlotte Observer
