Jonathan Jones - Instructor in Communications and Director of North Carolina Open Government Coalition

• B.A., M.A. and J.D., UNC Chapel Hill
• Formerly an assistant district attorney in Durham County; worked for five years on UNC’s Innocence Project; served as a law intern for the North Carolina Open Government Coalition
• Research interests include government transparency and Internet defamation
 
 

William Moner – Instructor in Communications

• B.S. and M.S., Duquesne University; Ph.D. in progress, University of Texas
• Seven years of professional experience; four years of full-time teaching experience in web design and interactive media at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh
• Research interests include the entertainment industry’s use of the web, open access, and digital media preservation
 
 

Craig Schmitt – Instructor in Sport and Event Management

• B.S., University of Florida; M.B.A. and Masters in Sport Business Management, University of Central Florida, Ph.D. in progress, University of Northern Colorado
• Five years of professional experience as YMCA program director
• Research interests include sport consumer behavior and the economics of ticket pricing strategies
 
 

Jessalynn Strauss – Assistant Professor of Communications

• B.A., Duke University; M.A., UNC Chapel Hill; Ph.D., University of Oregon
• Six years professional experience with Carolina Academic Press and the American Red Cross
• Three years of full-time teaching experience in public relations at Xavier University
• Recently signed a contract to publish a book on corporate social responsibility; other research interests include public relations ethics and nonprofit public relations
 
 

Harold (Hal) Vincent - Lecturer in Communications and Faculty Director of Live Oak

• B.A., University of Richmond; M.S., Virginia Commonwealth University
• Ten years of agency experience as advertising account executive and director of account management; recipient of four Silver Addys from the American Advertising Federation
• Four years of full-time teaching experience at the University of South Florida, including being interim director of the school’s Zimmerman Advertising Program
