  • Previously served as an adjunct for the department of education. Has also served as an Early Childhood Instructor at Alamance Community College, and as an Educational Consultant for Head Start

Portia Wade – Lecturer of Education

  • B.A., Elon University; M.Ed., Elon University
  • Previously served as an adjunct for the department of education. Has also served as an Early Childhood Instructor  at Alamance Community College, and as an Educational Consultant for Head Start

Jessica Wery, Assistant Professor in the School of Education

  • B.S., University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee; M.Ed. and Ph.D. North Carolina State University
  • Has six years of classroom teaching experience and has served as an adjunct professor in the School of Education
  • Scholarly Interests: Intervention with students with emotional and behavioral disorders, assessment, multi-tiered systems of support, and implementation fidelity.

  • Joins us from teaching at UNCG, Department of Public Health Education and formerly the Executive Director of Partners for Healthy Youth
  • Scholarly interests: Health Literacy, Adolescent Health and Health Disparities
