This office is associated with the dynamic goal of supporting a world class faculty and staff. Our goal is to engage all staff members on campus to holistically consider their professional lives at Elon and the contribution we each make to create a thriving environment for students and other employees.

Mission Statement

The Office of Leadership and Professional Development supports the mission, values, staff and advancement of Elon University.

This office is committed to providing Elon employees with learning opportunities that will enhance job skills, communication, performance and personal excellence that will allow them to become more meaningfully connected to their professions.
Programming and funding will be provided to encourage staff members to make professional development a key aspect of their continuing journey at Elon and beyond.

Customized Department Trainings
We offer programs that can be customized to meet specific departmental needs.  Examples of recent programs include:
    - Team Building with Myers Briggs Type Inventory (MBTI)
    - Stress Reduction in the Workplace
    - Motivating People and Organizational Prioritization
    - Closing the Conversation
    - Working Smarter, Not Harder
    - Choosing a Mentor

Individual Development Facilitation
A knowledgeable, expert facilitator will be on campus two Friday afternoons every month to offer confidential individual sessons on professional and developmental goal planning. Please contact Ann Flaherty at x6123 (aflaherty2@elon.edu) for more information or to schedule a session.
 
 
Elon University Toastmasters Club
This group meets the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month from 12:15-1:15 pm. Bring a lunch, dessert will be served. The inaugural meeting is Wednesday, May 30 in Moseley 215. Come and find out what Toastmasters is all about, call Karen at x6124 if you are interested in attending!!
