The Office of Leadership and Professional Development (OLPD) is associated with the dynamic goal of supporting a world class faculty and staff. Our goal is to engage all staff members on campus to holistically consider their professional lives at Elon and the contribution we each make to create a thriving environment for students and other employees.

Programming is available in three categories:

  • Learning through Leadership (open to all employees and covers a variety of topics).
  • Growing through Leadership (open to all employees in supervisory roles).
  • Achieving through Leadership (a specialized leadership training program by nomination).

In addition to these three series, our office supports a 6-month employee orientation program, Joining Elon, focused on getting to know our community; department specific professional development programs and retreat planning; a grant-in-aid program for professional development; individual facilitation and supporting employee originated resource groups.

Mission Statement

The Office of Leadership and Professional Development supports the mission, values, staff and advancement of Elon University.

"On a scale of 1 to 10, it was a 12. I've done a lot of self-help, therapy, and talking centered around my career and this program was amazing." -- OLPD participant, 2014
