The Campus Kitchens Project

The Campus Kitchens Project is a national organization that partners with high school, colleges and universities to share on-campus kitchen space, recover food from dining halls and engage students as volunteers who prepare and deliver meals to the community.

Community Gardens and Farms

Several institutions in NC support a garden to provide food to individuals from within the campus community and the broader community.  In addition to the service opportunities they provide, they are often utilized as experiential learning environments, helping students gain understanding beyond their classroom experiences. In most instances the garden is located on campus property although a few are located at a community site but maintained and supported by the institution.
