Fall is always a busy time at Elon, full of many activities to enrich the mind and nourish the spirit.
I hope you enjoyed Family Weekend Sept. 25-27. This annual Elon tradition is a wonderful opportunity to visit with your student and learn more about this special university.
On Oct. 13, Elon welcomes Khaled Hosseini, author of recent bestsellers The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns. Hosseini will deliver the Fall Convocation address in Alumni Gym at 4 p.m. On Nov. 6-8, Elon’s Department of Performing Arts presents “Kiss Me, Kate” in McCrary Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sunday. We hope you can join us for these exciting events.
Now that the new academic year has begun, there are several ways parents can stay up to date on what is happening at Elon. You can sign up for ThisWeek@Elon, our electronic newsletter, and visit E-net, our news and information Web site.
If you are a new parent, be sure to check out our New Parents and Around Town links on this site, which feature a parents guide, and lodging and restaurant information on campus, in Burlington and beyond.
Best regards,
Maggie Byerly
Director of Parent Programs
