One of Elon’s choral groups, Camerata (above), will be
performing in Whitley Auditorium on Saturday. The group is
presenting a program from its recent European tour. While in
Vienna, Austria, Prague and the Czech Republic over Jan.
20-27, Camerata performed arrangements such as “Ave
Maria,” Mozart’s “Ave verum,”
“The Fox, the Ape, and the Humble Bee” and
Handl’s “Ascendit Deus.” Along with these
selections, Camerata will perform “Never Doubt I
Love” with a solo by Meredith Betts, “Shady
Grove” with Andrew Newson playing dulcimer and
“Ain’t-a that Good News.” The group, which
performed at Sunday morning Mass at St. Vitus Cathedral in
the castle in Prague, will be selling CDs of tour music on
Saturday and at all of the choral concerts this semester to
offset the costs of the European tour. The CDs are $10 or $8
with an Elon ID.
