The "Guru"

"Dear Guru – Whenever I am bored in class all I think about is sex. I’m a girl! Is there something wrong

with me?"

For some reason society has pegged “nympho-ness” as a bad thing. Crazy, because, with so many options available to you, it’s hard not to think about sex.

There is the third floor of Belk, Leo Lambert’s desk, the 50-yard line ... sorry, I digress.

Supposed “studies” in magazines and on television claim that men think about sex around 150 times a day. (How they have the mental energy to tie their shoes I have no idea.)

Now most women probably do not think about sex 150 times a day.

But, I don’t think that 100 times is too shabby.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with having sex on the brain. The good thing about being a female is that you can think about sex all you want and there is nothing to arise anyone’s, um, suspicions.

No one is going to arrest you for having a fantasy about the hot guy next to you in class.

If you try to act on all these ideas, however, you may run risk of ending in handcuffs.

But then again, you might like that kind of stuff.

Unfortunately, for years women have been suppressed under the Victorian image of purity – an image that reinforced the double standard that men are sexual beings and women are the chaste homemakers.

But the term “it takes two to tango” isn’t just talking about dancing.

Women are just as sexual as men. They have just been taught to hide it.

Take a second and think about your four closest female friends. Do they seem chaste and virtuous to you?

I didn’t think so.

I recently read a study that said the more “attractive” a person was, the more fertile. Men that were considered “hot” actually had more potent sperm than those who were not considered “hot.”

So when you are sitting there drooling over that gorgeous guy next to you in your 8 a.m., don’t berate yourself. It’s biological.

Thank God for genes.

A good friend once confided to me that the only way she could stay awake through her English class was by fantasizing about her teacher. Gives a whole new meaning to class participation, doesn’t it?

Imagination put to its best use.

Of course the whole teacher issue is a completely different story—and article.

Sexual fantasies are a healthy way to not only relax, but also to indulge in behavior you wouldn’t normally perform in your everyday life.

So when your mind wanders into the gutter, stop and play! Just don’t stay there all the time.

If you are having trouble not thinking about sex, then you could have a fixation problem. In this case, I strongly recommend that you go see a counselor.

Otherwise, I say it is a happy, healthy and entertaining way to pass your time.

A word of advice, it may seem that since the academic buildings aren’t locked at night, that they are free range. But watch out, they do have video cameras.
