Water in Alamance County is about to get a little bluer and cleaner. Dr. Janet MacFall, associate professor of biology, and her team at Elon's Center for Environmental Studies, in partnership with the Haw River Assembly, has just been awarded a $97,000 grant to study the land surrounding the Haw River.... more

The recent tragedy in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama has made us all think of the destructive power that hurricanes are sometimes capable of. I am in fact sorry for all those people in that region that have lost everything, but I feel as if there is so much more we can learn from this than what people have.
