Anonymous and An Umpire Conscience
rock Elon
Virginia Galvez / A&E Editor
This week holds a great deal for some of Elon's student
bands. In particular, Anonymous and An Umpire Conscience,
formerly known as Thick as Thieves will be playing two shows
together as the school celebrates Halloween festivities.
Anonymous and An Umpire Conscience are performing tonight at
10:30 p.m. at Hambone's in Burlington and Monday, October
31 at 10:30 p.m. at Lighthouse Tavern in Elon. Admission for
each of these shows is under $5.
According to information given in a recent press release,
those who dress up for these gigs will defiantly have a good
time. "If you dress up in a costume, you drink for free;
it's as simple as that. We want our fans to enjoy our
music and have a little Halloween fun as well," said
Nick MacDaniels, lead vocalist for Anonymous. Anonymous will
be providing free kegs for those in costume and it is rumored
that both bands will be sporting some festive clothing as
well. "Plan to be surprised," said MacDaniels.
Anonymous has been playing together on and around Elon's
campus for over four years. Through a mix a classical and
modern musical influences, the band writes songs with a bit
of rock and reggae mixture.
An Umpire Conscience recently started putting on shows in
Elon. They describe their music style as "an array of
jazz, lounge, rock and roll and electronic wizardry."
