There has been much discussion in recent weeks over the acquisition of American ports by Dubai Ports World (DPW), a company owned by the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The media provides the television viewer with snapshots of destruction in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Glimpses of houses blown away to shreds, trees uprooted and people crying in despair portray the gruesomeness of the natural disaster.
