Dubai Ports World: the geostrategic importance of business There has been much discussion in recent weeks over the acquisition of American ports by Dubai Ports World (DPW), a company owned by the United Arab Emirates (UAE). A reflection from a spring break Hurricane Katrina volunteer The media provides the television viewer with snapshots of destruction in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Glimpses of houses blown away to shreds, trees uprooted and people crying in despair portray the gruesomeness of the natural disaster. Letters to the editor are always welcome.
