Orientation 2006: Transition is less scary with 109 trained helpers

To some new students, the first week of college can seem like one small step into adulthood. To others, it can be one giant leap out of their comfort zones.
However, once new students and their parents arrived in parking lots across Elon’s campus on Friday, they may have been comforted knowing there were 93 orientation leaders and 16 head staff members waiting to help them carry the luggage up flights of stairs and adjust into a new lifestyle during the next six days of orientation.
