In a dark editing bay in the basement of McEwen Communications building last week, Elon alumna Lauren Gadd’s face was illuminated by a computer screen.

She was working on the final print of her documentary “The Idol and the Band,” a film that follows the lives of members of local band Absent Element as their lead singer, Chris Daughtry, rises to fame on “American Idol.”

Copeland: Tragic indie rock

Kate Ferris / Columnist

Music is my life. I listen to it in my car, I walk to class to it, I fall asleep to it, I dance to it, I sing to it and I am always discovering it.

My latest and greatest discovery is Copeland. Ever since my older brother copied a few of their songs onto my computer and I subsequently downloaded every song of theirs I could find, I have been in love with Copeland.

The Richmond Ballet presented “American Masterpieces of Dance” last Wednesday in McCrary Theatre. Those who purchased tickets ahead of time seemed to have enjoyed every moment and thought the evening was time well spent.
