What’s hot for fall fashion
Fashion trends for men stay casual and preppy this season,
while females re-invent the ‘80s Meredith Long/ Reporter
Fashion trends from decades ago are back in style in a whole
new way. This fall, the styles for women are reflecting the
styles from the ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s.
Pencil skirts and tapered jeans are in this fall with tall,
stiletto boots or pumps. However, for a more casual look, try
round-toe pumps with short dresses and skirts. This look,
straight from the ‘80s, will be very hot for
women.
Instead of bringing the wild ‘80s colors along with
the pumps, designers have paler colors in mind.
“There will be an explosion of gray and people will be
wearing a lot of neutral colors,” sophomore Jessica
Doan said.
Although women’s trends change constantly from year to
year, guys’ fashion is not scheduled to change as
drastically. Sophomore Ellen Clemons thinks that men’s
style in clothing changes by the decade instead. Khakis and
polo shirts will most likely stay in style for the remainder
of this decade.
“Fashion for guys tends to stay the same for years,
mostly because of money reasons—guys just don’t
have the money to keep up,” sophomore David Point
said.
Not every style for women is changing though. Some of the
continuing fashions on campus this fall will be the popular
UGG boots, North Face fleeces and leggings.
With these tips in mind, Elon men and women will be sure to
be styling this fall semester.
