Study Abroad Fair


The Isabella Cannon Centre for International Studies will hold Elon’s Second Annual Study Abroad Fair today, Sept. 21 from 1 to 5 p.m. in McKinnon Hall.

Representatives from most of Elon’s affiliated semester programs and exchange agreements will be available to answer questions and provide information for students.

Students who returned from previous study abroad programs will be present to meet and talk with students who are planning on traveling to the same countries or areas.

This year, Elon has a total 29 semester programs, including two Elon satellite campuses, 25 winter term programs and six summer programs.

According to an email sent by the Isabella Cannon Center for International studies, 64 percent of 2006 graduates studied abroad for at least one term.

During the 2005-2006 school year, almost 23 percent of the entire student body studied abroad.

 

 

 

 

Take Back the Night


Students, staff and faculty will gather from 8 to 10 p.m. next Thursday, Sept. 28 in front of Whitley auditorium as part of awareness week activities.

Take Back the Night is a national event that demonstrates that both men and women can fight against sexual assault.

Sweet Signatures, the all-female A capella group, will be performing.



Elon Poll Commences


The Elon Poll starts next week, marking the first of three sessions during the semester.

The poll will focus on questions such as smoking in North Carolina work places.

Students begin polling Sunday, Sept. 24 from 1 to 6 p.m. and continues Monday through Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m.

There will be another opportunity for students to participate in the poll Oct. 23 - 27 and Nov. 13 -17.
