Burlington: More than meets the eye Kate Ferris/ Columnist
It is easy to say that a person has to drive 20 minutes to
Greensboro or 45 minutes to Raleigh just to find
entertainment. It is easy to think there is nothing to do
around Elon except going to the movies, going out to eat or
going to Target. Things can get rather monotonous. In reality, there is more to Burlington than meets the eye. There are many things to do in and around Burlington that can break the monotony.

When I went to see “Employee of the Month,” I
wasn’t expecting it to be on the same comedic level as
“Wedding Crashers” or “Anchorman.”
But as a die-hard Dane Cook fan, I felt that it was my duty
to see a movie that he was headlining, even if it listed
Jessica Simpson as a co-star. New season of ‘Lost’ raises questions Melissa Kingsley/ Reviewer
The season premiere of ABC’s hit TV show
“Lost” answered some pressing questions while
creating some new ones. The third season of “Lost” is expected to focus more on the Others, perhaps giving viewers some insight about what their purpose on the island is.

If you turn on your TV any given night of the week,
you’re bound to come across a crime drama. Network
schedules are filled with shows like “CSI,”
“Law and Order,” “Without a Trace”
and “Cold Case.” These shows bring in millions of
viewers every week, but many of them feel bland because
they’re formulated just like every other crime show on
TV. |
