Political Science major combines research and passion

Angela Carlberg, an All-Southern Conference Women’s Track & Field athlete, Student Ambassador, S.M.A.R.T Mentor, Student Athlete Advisory Council Member, Student Government Association Senator, Student Life Committee Member, Political Science major and Women’s and Gender Studies minor, is clearly not just the average Elon student.

New search engine provides relief with little effort

If you didn’t fast for Darfur last Thursday or you’re a “poor college student” who can’t contribute monthly to sponsor a child in Africa, GoodSearch is calling for you.

The charity Web site is a search engine powered by Yahoo! that donates one penny per search to the cause of your choice.


Freshmen English class raises money for Partners in Health

One might not expect to see a group of freshmen actively fundraising without the blatant pretenses of racking in publicity for publicity’s sake. In some cases, when it comes to making a difference, help truly does come from the most unlikely of places.

English professor Andy Angyal urged his students to actively pursue involvement in the work of Paul Farmer, the anthropologically-minded doctor whose philanthropic pursuits were documented in the Common Reading, “Mountains Beyond Mountains.”

Students choose Elon from all around the world

Elon students not only come from all over the United States, but they come from all over the world. International students who attend Elon come from Asia, Africa, Europe, the Caribbean, Latin America and the Middle East. Students from the class of 2009 came from 37 states and 21 countries.
