Schedule an appointment with a Career Counselor.

A meeting with one of the Career Center staff is your best opportunity to obtain expert assistance with personal career decisions. While we offer many programs and events to help you plan your career path and explore careers, getting to know you personally can help us direct you to the services/resources that will be most helpful. • Values clarification - A career counselor can talk with you to determine your values and how they fit with a career. Family, money, travel, lifestyle are some of the values that impact career satisfaction.

Step 2 - Gain Experience

  • Get involved in extra-curricular activities

  • Obtain an internship, co-op, or other work experience

  • Sharpen computer, teamwork and communication skills

Step 3 - Prepare Your Self-Marketing Package

  • Write resume and develop cover letters

  • Practice interviewing skills

  • Locate people to serve as references

Step 4 - Implement a Job Search or Graduate School Plan

  • Research job openings/organizations or schools

  • Network with contacts in your chosen field
