Leadership Conferences

    The Leadership Development Institute (LDI) is a one-day event where student leaders and advisors participate in interactive workshops, simulations and discussions to aid in the transitioning of leadership within their organization. Students, faculty, staff and community members serve as presenters.

The LDI offers workshops on:

• Creating & maintaining Web sites
• How to handle meetings gone bad
• Retreat planning
• How people will follow you if you have something to say
• Effective use of Blackboard
• Defining your organization
• Using multimedia resources
• Building a team
• Crash course for treasurers

Fit to Lead is a Winter Term leadership institute designed to empower students to create social change through their leadership roles on campus. The curriculum is focused on the development and implementation of an organizational vision statement through knowledge of self, team, action and citizenship. All meals and accommodations during the institute are FREE for participants!

Who should attend?
Elon students who seek to enhance their leadership skills will benefit from this experience. It is designed for emerging leaders who are new to their leadership positions or who have demonstrated the potential to lead in the future. All participants must be nominated by a Student Life staff member or Student Organization advisor.

What will I learn?
By participating in Fit to Lead, you will:

• Gain a better understanding of your own leadership style.
• Establish higher levels of trust and rapport with members of other campus organizations.
• Establish a vision and common goals for members of your organization.
• Develop the potential to create change in an organization on campus.
• Recognize the power of team and the value of individuals.
