Interfraternity Council (IFC) Men's Recruitment

Congratulations on making the decision to learn about fraternity and sorority life at Elon University! Your years here at Elon will include many exciting learning experiences, one of which may include becoming a member of a Greek-lettered organization. The fraternity and sorority community at Elon has enhanced the lives of thousands of men and women. Fraternity and sorority life can add many valuable dimensions to your college experience.

Sororities and fraternities can help you find your niche at Elon as they

  • offer academic assistance and support
  • encourage you to be active in student organizations and community service
  • open doors for professional opportunities
  • assist you in developing social skills
  • provide educational awareness regarding social issues
  • give you a chance to make friends with similar interests.

Fall 2017 Recruitment Information

Fall IFC Recruitment will take place from Sunday, September 10th to Sunday, September 17th. All participants must meet eligibility and registration requirements (see below).

Eligibility Requirements

1. All undergraduate male students who are of sophomore standing or above, who obtain at least a 2.8 cumulative grade point average, and are in good standing with the University, are eligible to participate in fall fraternity recruitment. If you do not have a 2.8 cumulative GPA, you may appeal this requirement via the registration form. 

2. All participants must complete the registration form on PhoenixConnect, and also attend IFC Recruitment Convocation on Sunday, September 10th. More details below.

Registration for Fall IFC Recruitment is available on the Interfraternity Council PhoenixConnect page. You may REGISTER HERE.  Registration closes at 8:00am on Monday, September 11th.  No late registrations will be accepted. 

Statement on Unrecognized Chapters

The following chapters were found responsible for significant violations of the Elon Honor Code and are not recognized by Elon University as registered student organizations.  They are unable to participate in the recruitment of new members or community activities of any kind: Sigma Pi (unrecognized since Fall 2014); Pi Kappa Phi (unrecognized since Spring 2015)

Recruitment Schedule

All students interested in the fall recruitment process MUST attend Recruitment Convocation on Sunday, September 11th. From there, student may attend as many event throughout the week as they'd like. IFC's recommendation is to attend multiple events with multiple chapters, to experience all the IFC community has to offer!
