The progress and community impact of all fraternity and sorority chapters at Elon University is reviewed annually through an evaluation program. Formally known as the Standards of Excellence, Elon University Greek Life implemented a new Chapter Accreditation Program during the 2012-2013 school year to evaluate and recognize chapters that meet and exceed our community-wide standards for fraternities and sororities. All chapter presidents and emerging leaders are trained on this program during the Greek Leaders Retreat. Chapters are evaluated in 6 areas that reflect the intersection of fraternal values and Elon values. The six values are intellectual development, effective leadership, responsible citizenship, inclusive envrionments and values integration.
Each May, the Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life recognizes chapters and Greek students who deserve recognition in the areas of scholarship, service, philanthropy, leadership, and programming. We also recognize faculty members and faculty/staff advisors who have made a substantial impact on the lives, careers, and fraternity/sorority experience of our students. All chapters have the opportunity to nominate members for individual awards, and apply for chapter awards. More information and applications for awards will be available in April.
