General Recruitment
Information
Who can participate in Recruitment?
Chapters in good standing with both the
University and with their inter/national organizations may
recruit. All undergraduate male students, who obtain at least
a 2.5 cumulative grade point average after a minimum of 12
credit hours at Elon University and are in good standing with
the University, are eligible to participate in fraternity
recruitment.
When is Recruitment?
There will be two (2) officially recognized
recruitment periods during the calendar year for the Elon
University Fraternity community; one (1) in the fall for
returning sophomores and upperclassmen, and one (1) in the
spring for freshmen and any other interested men.
The Spring 2008 Recruitment period will begin on Sunday,
February 10, 2008 and goes through Friday, February 15, 2008.
The new member period will be no longer than 6 weeks, and all
new members will be initiated by Sunday, April 6, 2008.
Fraternities have the ability to and are encouraged to
recruit 365 days a year. All formal Recruitment events should
follow the risk management policies of the individual
organizations and of the University and are to be alcohol
free.

Mandatory Kick Off Event, 2:00 p.m.
Meet the fraternity presidents and recruitment
chairs in a formal presentation. House
tours of all fraternity facilities will be guided
by Executive Board members of the Interfraternity
Council.
