General
Recruitment Information
Recruitment is a mutual selection process by which
sororities recruit new members and introduce them to the
responsibilities and opportunities involved with being a
Greek woman.
All women who want to register to go through Recruitment
must have completed at least 12 credit hours
at Elon University and have a 2.75 GPA from Fall
semester. Winter Term grades will not be
considered since those grades will not be reported in
time.

The Potential Members’ Bill of Rights is
determined by the NPC Unanimous Agreements. If at any point a
potential member feels as though any of the rights below have
been compromised, she should contact the Director of Greek
Life.

The right to be treated as an individual.

The right to be fully informed about the recruitment
process.

The right to ask questions and receive true and objective
answers from recruitment counselors and members.

The right to be treated with respect.

The right to be treated as a capable and mature person
without being patronized.

The right to ask how or why and receive straight answers.

The right to have and express opinions to recruitment
counselors.

The right to have inviolable confidentiality when sharing
information with recruitment counselors.

The right to make informed choices without undue pressure
from others.

The right to be fully informed about the binding agreements
implicit in the acceptance card signing.

The right to make one’s own choice and decisions and
accept full responsibility for the results of that
decision.

The right to have a positive, safe, and enriching
recruitment and new member experience.

Winter Term Events
All those who
registered for recruitment prior to January 7th should be
contacted by a recruitment counselor no later than January
11th. If you registered on January 7th or later, they
will contact you by January 14th.
Wednesday, January 9th; 9:00 pm
Panhellenic will be sponsoring the Men’s Basketball
game vs Davidson. You will be meeting with your
recruitment counselors (Pi Chis) for the first time and then
we will be heading in to watch the game and all attendees
have a chance to win some great prizes! I highly
encourage you to attend, there will be many wonderful
Panhellenic women present to give you an idea of sorority
sisterhood.

9:30 - 6:00 p.m.
|
Information Round
|
|
On this day, every woman will visit all 8 sorority
houses. This round will serve as an icebreaker
round for women to get as much information from
each sorority as possible.

Sunday, January 27
1:00 – 8:00 p.m.
|
Philanthropy Round
|
|
Today each woman will visit a maximum of 5 houses.
This round is meant to inform each potential new
member of the various sororities’
philanthropy efforts throughout the year.

Monday, January 28
1:00 – 6:00 p.m.
|
Sisterhood Round
|
|
Today each woman will visit a maximum of 3 houses.
Sisterhood round is meant for potential members
gain more knowledge into what sorority best fits
their personality.

Tuesday, January 29
1:00 – 5:30 p.m.
|
Preference Round
|
|
Today each woman will visit a maximum of 2
houses. Preference is very sacred to each
sorority and is a formal event meant to show
potential members the definition of sisterhood
and lifetime commitment.

Wednesday, January 30, 1 p.m.
|
Bid Day
|
|
Today women receive their bids to a sorority and
spend the day doing that sorority’s
activities.

Pi Chis
2007-2008
Pi Chis (Panhellenic Recruitment Counselors) serve as a
neutral sorority woman who has chosen to disaffiliate from
her sorority for roughly a year in order to serve potential
members an unbiased mentor. Pi Chis can answer any questions
that potential members may have at any point before or during
the Recruitment process, so please feel free to contact them
at any time.
