The Center for Public Affairs works cooperatively with public, public-private and nonprofit organizations (at the regional, state, national and international levels) in developing research, training and other practical assistance to organizations and communities searching for solution to difficult problems.

Mission

Bridging Academia and the World: The Center is central to the Institute for Politics and Public Affair’s mission of eliminating the disconnect between academic endeavor and citizens, policy makers, administrators, activists and civic leaders.

Providing Students with Work Experience: Elon University students receive hands-on experience with organizations like Transparency International and the Human Rights Monitoring Institute by accessing internship opportunities through the Center.

Conducting Research for the Public Good: The Center sponsors community-based research projects for local government agencies and organizations, non-profit organizations and agencies, as well as some international academic and non-profit organizations.
