Latin American Student Organization

Meet our founders

Collin Watson is a member of the Class of 2012. He is a finance major and Spanish minor from Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Interests include fitness, basketball, Spanish and traveling. He has studied in Guatemala and Barcelona (Spain) as well as travelled to Mexico and Begur, Spain. On campus, Collin is heavily involved in multicultural life through his role as a Multicultural Ambassador.

Nicole is a Senior acting major from Virginia Beach, Va. She has served on two missions trips to Nicaragua working with a local orphanage. She has a deep love for all things Hispanic and for the Spanish language. She believes LASO is an amazing organization and the first step in making a more unified and diverse campus.

¡Hola! My name is Jericka Fernandez. I am a Dominican-American senior marketing major with a dance minor, from Rhode Island. I am a Fall 2008 initiate and President of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. This year I am a member and past co-chair of the marketing and public relations committee for our Student Union Board (SUB). For three years now I have worked in admissions as a multicultural ambassador, therefore, I may have given or will be given you a tour this year! My biggest accomplishment here at Elon University is when I became the Co-Founder and Co-President of the Latin American Student Organization (LASO).

Hola!!! My name is Nicole Morillo and I'm a rising senior majoring in International studies/Spanish and minoring in History/Political science/Latin American studies. My parents are from Colombia and I am extremely proud of my heritage. I love the richness of the Latin American culture and feel passionate about sharing it with others. If you are interested in the Latino culture or Spanish language then LASO is the place for you!!
