Changes in 2010

Below are several changes to the 2010 housing selection process. Please keep checking this website as more information will be posted as we get closer to February!

Process Changes

All medical requests for special housing will be handled through student disability services.  Students must register with this office and provide documentation in order to be considered for special housing.  Click here for more details.

Housing Option Changes

The Crest will be offered as expanded housing during Phase One and Phase Two.  Current students in expanded housing will have the opportunity to squat (all Phase One requirements will apply).  Those current expanding housing students who do not wish to continue in expanded housing may make plans to sign a new Crest lease with B.C. Parker and move to another apartment, or may simply move off campus to another complex.  Current residence hall students may apply for spots at the Crest during Phase Two.  Click here for more information.

Newman Center - Holland House will be offered through the learning community process.

There will be one new learning community for next year - the Japanese house.  The Japanese House offers a unique environment for students interested in Japanese culture, language, and society.

Residents are not required to speak exclusively Japanese, but students living in the Japanese House should expect to speak Japanese as often as possible, particularly at group meals and special events. The community will be housed on the second floor of Colonnades A.

ASHES will be a new theme community for next year.  Alcohol & Substance-Free Housing for Elon Students will be housed on the second floor of Danieley I.
