Examining Disparities in Access to Education

The Examining Disparities in Access to Education Living Learning Community is open to students interested in exploring socio-economic issues and their effect on educational access and success Pre-K through higher education. Through regular activities such as dinners, discussions, common readings, service with The Village Project, Elon Academy, and Collegiate Start, and other resident designed activities; residents will have an opportunity to explore issues affecting educational access and success from a variety of perspectives.  This allows students to bring their personal experiences and diverse academic perspectives to the conversation. 

This Living Learning Community connects closely with Elon’s Center for Access and Success; the Center works with students from all backgrounds to advocate for access and success at all educational levels.  The LLC with work to serve individuals in our Elon University community and our surrounding communities from pre-K to adults through current initiatives such as: The Village Project, Elon Academy, Odyssey Scholars Program and Collegiate Start@Elon

What/Where:

The Examining Disparities in Access to Education LLC is located in Colonnades.

Who:

The community is open to any student wishing to explore topics around socio-economics and access to education globally.   Topics will be explored from a variety of perspectives.  For example: exploring the impact of educational access on business, local economies, public health, and not for profit organizations.
