Oaks Neighborhood

The Oaks Neighborhood is a six-building apartment complex for 600 students, mostly sophomores and juniors, with a focus on deepening the Elon Experience. Combining experiential learning—internships, undergraduate research, campus and community leadership, and study abroad experiences—with identity development will allow residents to connect to campus partners and mentors to help them thrive in and out of the classroom.

Signature Programs/Traditions/Experiences:

  • Le Querce—Italian, bistro-themed neighborhood kickoff
  • Late Nite Nomz—a monthly snack-filled study break served by student leaders
  • The MobileMaker—a maker space cart that includes a 3D printer and 3D scanner
  • Book Clubs—one book each term
  • OBBQ—End-of-year cookout celebration

The apartment configurations include:

  • units with two single bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room and kitchen
  • units with four single bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room and kitchen
  • units with two bedrooms and two residents per room, two bathrooms, a living room and kitchen

All units are furnished with bedroom furniture (full bed, desk, dresser, and chair); living room furniture (couch, chair, end table, entertainment center, and coffee table); dining room furniture (table and chairs for the 4 person units and bar stools for the 2 person units); washer and dryer; dishwasher; microwave; refrigerator; stove and full access to the campus computer network.

The commons building, McCoy Commons, includes a club room, meeting rooms, a community kitchen, and the neighborhood office. There are also 2 PCs, 2 Macs, and a print station.There is parking for over 500 residents, an outdoor sand volleyball court, picnic area, and basketball court.
