Residence Life

Residential Campus Initiative Linked Courses

Linked residential courses are programs that directly integrate the curriculum with the residential experience. Cohorts of up to 25 first-year students, who live in the same building or residential neighborhood, are co-enrolled in a set of courses during the fall semester. Faculty report that students in linked courses are more engaged in class and more willing to confront each other on differences of opinions.

Linked courses currently occur for first-year students in the following neighborhoods:

  • COR 110. The Global Experience – Colonnades, Danieley Center, Global Neighborhood
  • ENG 110. Writing: Argument and Inquiry – Historic Neighborhood
  • MTH 110. General Statistics – Historic Neighborhood

Each of these courses is part of the First Year Foundations in Elon's nationally recognized Core Curriculum.
