Teacher Scholar in Residence

TheTeacher Scholar in Residence program encourages and maximizes the quality and quantity of faculty-student interaction on campus and outside of the classroom by having faculty members live in apartments located within the residence halls.

Faculty in the program get a unique perspective on student life and unique opportunities to interact with students in learning outside the classroom, all of which lead to:

• community building
• intellectual discussion and growth
• career and idea exploration
• creative thinking and
• practice in lifelong and seamless learning.

Students living in these halls have the opportunity to develop friendships and mentoring relationships with interesting and popular faculty members and their families.

This program impacts students by:

• interacting with students in informal settings
• providing informal academic advising
• maintaining contact hours each week in the residence halls.
