We in Residence Life are excited about your upcoming arrival to campus and in preparation for your arrival we have developed a roommate relations website to help facilitate your adjustment to college and living on campus.
Please take a few minutes of your time to view the links below:
As you enter your new living situation, how YOU feel about certain situations and subjects is important.
Residence life uses two forms to help students navigate difficult conversations their new roommates. The forms must be completed by all incoming studentsd during the first two weeks of fall semester. Click the link above for more information.
In our experience, managing your expectations about your roommate relationship is often something that incoming students don't think enough about. Click on the link above to read more about what you have the right to expect from your living situation and what headaches students often bring on themselves.
We recommend that you read, "The Naked Roommate: And 107 Other Issues You Might Run Into in College" before you arrive in August. The book is recommended nationally by many colleges and universities and its goal is to help students talk to each other about issues and establish communication that will avoid roommate conflicts.
Have a great summer, and we are looking forward to your arrival in August!
