Residential Services at Elon

Living on campus provides students with premier residential and dining facilities and customer services in order to:
  1. Support students' academic endeavors.
  2. Provide for students' basic needs of safety, comfort and ability to function within the campus community.
  3. Enhance students' development of life skills and independence.
  4. Create easy and accessible procedures for campus living.

New Student Assignments
  • New students will receive housing assignment information in the mail during the spring semester.
  • Students are encouraged to attend Spring Admissions Orientation weekends in order to familiarize themselves with all the residential options Elon has to offer.
  • Students and parents may also learn about and review housing options on the facilities page of the Residence Life Web site.
  • New accepted students can apply online for their housing assignments May 3 - June 11.
  • Assignments will be posted by July 6.
  • Questions or concerns regarding this process can be forwarded to Residence Life.
Residence Hall Amenities
For the convenience of students, all rooms in Elon's various residence halls come furnished with beds, desks, dressers and wardrobes. (The only furnished apartments are Danieley O & P.)

Cable TV: Basic cable service is provided in each residence hall room as part of the room fee. Premium channels are available through the local cable company.

Computers/Internet Access: All residence halls are directly wired for access to the campus computing backbone. There are also numerous computer labs across campus and more than 140 computers in the Belk Library for student use.

Laundry Facilities: Washers and dryers are available at convenient locations throughout the residence life community.

Trash Receptacles/Recycling: Trash and recycling areas are provided in each residence hall. Residents are responsible for separating trash and recyclables in these areas. Failure to separate is a violation of county ordinances and goes against Elon's value of environmental preservation.

Telephones: Each residence hall room is equipped with a working telephone jack which provides on-campus and local service as part of the room rate. Long distance service is provided through AT&T ACUS.
