Collective
Action and Responsibility
Focusing on issues of social justice, human rights, and
resistance movements, the Collective Action and
Responsibility Learning Community will be a space where
students can explore and deepen their understanding of
collective action, collective responsibility, and their
absences. Students will further define their
individual and collective sense of responsibility by:
-
Learning about Collective Action and Responsibility issues
by engaging with professors, speakers, victims and
political activists.
-
Participating in on-site studies of human rights
abuses. These studies will be co-organized by the
students and will alternate between a national and
international location every other year.
-
Taking an upper-level course on various issues of
collective action and responsibility that is linked with
the topics that they are addressing in the learning
community.
This community is intended for students who are interested
in educating themselves and others about issues of profound
injustice and in acting on the insight they gain from this
education.
