Sexual Exploitation

Taking advantage of another individual in a non-consensual, abusive or unjust manner for personal benefit; or to the benefit of anyone other than the individual who is being exploited.  The behavior does not otherwise represent non-consensual sexual intercourse, non-consensual sexual contact or sexual harassment.  Sexual exploitation includes a broad range of behaviors.  These acts include but are not limited to:

  • Inducing incapacitation to attempt to rape or sexually assault another person
  • Non-consensual video or audio taping of a sexual activity
  • Allowing other individuals to observe an act of consensual sex without the knowledge or consent of the other partner
  • Engaging in voyeurism
  • Knowingly transmitting a STI or HIV to another person
  • Prostituting another person (i.e. – personally gaining money, privilege or power from the sexual activities of another)

Sexual Harassment

Threatening, verbal abuse, harassing phone calls and/or other inappropriate actions or comments that are sexually explicit in nature directed toward any member of the community.  Any comments or behaviors that are hurtful or derogatory to a specific gender or orientation via any medium (bodily, print, verbal, phone, electronic, etc…)
