EV! (Elon Volunteers!) through the Kernodle Center for
Service Learning provides opportunities for dedicated Elon
students to engage in service on a weekly or bi-weekly
basis through our volunteer programs Adopt A Grandparent EV!’s Adopt A Grandparent gives Elon University students the opportunity to interact, have fun, and build relationships with residents in local nursing homes. Please contact elonvols@elon.edu for more information. EV! Coaches EV! Coaches pairs student volunteers with different local sports teams in need of coaches. Elon students work with elementary age children as coaches and mentors throughout the season. evcoaches@elon.edu for more information Invisible Children Work to improve the quality of life for war-affected children by raising awareness and funds for education and economic opportunities around the world. Please contact elonvols@elon.edu for more information. Lunch Buddies The Lunch Buddies program pairs Elon University students with an elementary school student to eat lunch with them once a week. This is an easy way to make an enormous difference in the life of a child! Please contact lunchbuddies@elon.edu for more information. Safe Rides Safe Rides helps prevent drunk driving and prevent walking alone late at night by providing free rides within a one mile radius of campus. Volunteer as a driver, navigator or dispatcher to offer rides for students on the weekends. Please email saferides@elon.edu if you are interested in participating. S.H.A.R.E. (Students Helping Animals Regain Equality) Help animals regain equality by volunteering at the Burlington Adoption Center or being a part of the planning committee. Weekly Tutoring Opportunities Boys and Girls Club Boys and Girls Club is an after school program for disadvantaged youth. Tutor and play with kids by contacting bgc@elon.edu for more information. Burlington Housing Authority Tutor and play with students from kindergarten through middle school who live in the housing authority. Please contact bha@elon.edu for more information. Cummings High School Tutor students during and after the school day at Cummings High School. Please contact chs@elon.edu for more information. EV! Tutoring Program Promote academic success in others with our tutoring programs. Students in the program tutor weekly at either a local elementary school or the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club. Positive Attitude Youth Center Volunteering at Positive Attitude Youth Center allows you to conduct after school tutoring and recreational activities with youth.
