Faculty teaching undergraduate courses during Winter Term 2013 are invited to apply for grants of up to $300 each to provide evening or weekend activities that enhance the winter term academic experience. Fifteen grants were awarded last year with very favorable responses from participating faculty and students. Examples of past grant awardees can be viewed here.
If you are interested in applying for a grant, please complete and submit the brief application below by Monday, November 26th.
If you have questions, please contact Jordan Perry, Substance Education Coordinator or Resa Walch, Faculty Fellow for Substance Education. You will be notified the week of November 26th via email whether your grant application is approved.
This initiative emerged from the 2007 Presidential Task Force on Alcohol, Sub-committee on Winter Term. Based on focus groups and surveys with students enrolled in winter term, the sub-committee made several recommendations with particular emphasis on academic events in late afternoons and evenings. Additionally, Elon provides other ways for faculty to be involved in campus prevention efforts. For more information on faculty partnerships, contact Dr. Judy Esposito or Professor Resa Walch.
