Winter Term Engagement Grants

Faculty teaching undergraduate courses during Winter Term are invited to apply for grants of up to $300 each to provide evening or weekend activities that enhance the winter term academic experience.  Each year, approximately 20 mini-grants are awarded to faculty and staff. Examples of past grant awardees can be viewed here.

If you are interested in applying for a grant, please complete and submit the brief application by noon on Monday, November 28th.  No late applications will be accepted.  You will be notified the week of December 4th via email whether your grant application is approved.

This initiative has been successful in providing evening and weekend opportunities for faculty to academically engage with students beyond the classroom.  Past mini-grant recipients have reported the out-of-classroom interaction has significantly deepend the winter term academic experience for students.  Students consistently report they appreciate the chance to interact with their faculty in new and unique learning environments.

If you have questions, please contact Whitney Gregory, Assistant Dean for Student Health & Wellness and Honor Code, or Resa Walch, Faculty Fellow for Substance Education.

Additionally, Elon provides other ways for faculty to be involved in campus prevention efforts. For more information on faculty partnerships, contact Dr. Judy Esposito or Professor Resa Walch.
