Information Systems and Technologies is composed of two very active sections: Networking/Telecommunications and Systems Administration.

Ethernet Network - Elon's campus is 100% wired.
Wireless Network - 90% wireless

Voice over IP (VoIP) - Elon recently partnered with Cisco Systems and has begun deploying Voice over IP solutions throughout the campus. The VoIP solution will allow Elon to merge its voice and data networks and provides the foundation for future network infrastructure growth.

Systems Administration is responsible for all of the business critical servers, including E-mail. The responsibilities include accessibility, reliability, availability and security for all of the services required to conduct university business. The team must ensure that the servers are easily accessible for all those needing the appropriate services to conduct university business. The reliability issue is one that requires each server to be operating with no errors or faulty performance. All of the systems must be available around the clock with little to no down time. And finally the security of the systems is extremely important. The operation of the systems must be protected and the information and applications within the servers must be totally secure from intruders.

Television Services provides video and audio production, facility support and experiential learning opportunities to the entire campus. Television Services also supports the School of Communications with equipment loans, technical staff, facility management, and the acquisition of new technology. They also run campus television.
