Elon 101 Mission Statement:

Elon 101 supports the transition of first-year students as they become active participants in an academic community.  To fulfill this mission, Elon 101 uses a developmental model of advising that:

Elon College Fellows Program

The Elon College Fellows Program offers an exceptional opportunity for select students to experience the excitement of discovery in the arts and sciences disciplines. These Fellows are charged with the aggressive pursuit of a comprehensive undergraduate education centered in the Art and Humanities, the Mathematical and Natural Sciences, or the Social Sciences. The expectations placed on Fellows are high; the rewards are a challenging and truly unique education as well as a strong preparation for the future.

The program's mission is to transform the curiosity of high-potential students into deliberate focus, their passion into thoughtful investment and their sense of responsibility into educated wisdom.

Elon College Fellows must be exemplary citizens of the Elon University community and must at all times uphold the Elon University academic and social honor codes. Violations of these honor codes can result in loss of Fellows status.

 Honor Code

Elon University’s honor code is based on upholding four fundamental values: honesty, integrity, responsibility and respect. Adherence to these values is expected from students in and out of the classroom, on and off campus and in and out of the country. Breaches of these values will result in an academic or social honor code violation report.

In this class, honor code violations that may result in a lowering of your grade or your failure of the class include the following offenses: plagiarism, lying, cheating, stealing or vandalism, and facilitating academic dishonesty. Students should be familiar with these policies and should know that while "intent" may be considered in assigning sanctions, it is not a factor in determining responsibility for an offense. Students may learn more about the honor code, including definitions of violations, the process for adjudication and possible sanctions at http://www.elon.edu/honor. Students who are uncertain about whether specific behaviors or activities in this class are violations of the honor code should contact the instructor immediately.

Students will be expected to repeat the honor pledge on papers, tests or other assignments as the student’s affirmation that the values have been and will be followed: "On my honor, I will uphold the values of Elon University: honesty, integrity, responsibility and respect."

If you are a student with a documented disability who will require accommodations in this course, please register with Disabilities Services in the Duke Building, Room 108 (278-6500) for assistance in developing a plan to address your academic needs.

So here's to dear, old Elon
Faithful and Bold
And to her banner
Of Maroon and Gold
Here's to Men and Women
Who've come and gone
Singing the victors' song
Of old Elon
Elon's Alma Mater
Click Here and Sing Along

Sons of Elon, daughters too,
Bring their praise and homage true.
In thy keeping there will be
Words and deeds to honor thee.
Hearken to the song they're singing,
And the loyalty they're bringing.
Alma Mater, they will cherish thee;
Alma Mater, they will cherish thee.

Proud, the oak trees on thy hill
Offer shade and shadow still
Green the fields around thee lie;
Blue the Carolina sky.
Stately rise thy halls of learning,
Toward their portals we are turning.
Alma Mater, we will cherish thee;
Alma Mater, we will cherish thee.

Elon, ever lead us on
To a bright and happy dawn;
Teach us still to love and pray,
Guide us to a nobler day.
Joyous music lies before us,
Memories to swell the chorus.
Alma Mater, we will cherish thee;
Alma Mater, we will cherish thee.
