Healthy Alamance

Description: ON THE BIOBUS LOOP The activities of Healthy Alamance are designed to help improve access to, and increase awareness of, preventive health services, as well as eliminate health disparities among the disadvantaged. Each coalition works within their focus area to promote health habits to prevent or manage disease, or improve the availability of information and resources so that people know how to get the help they need. Coalition areas include: Chronic Disease, Substance Abuse, Asthma, Community Assessment, and other areas outside of the agency (school health, safe kids, and transportation).

Office Hours: m-f 8am-5pm w/ some evenings & wkends

Best Times for Volunteers: Students must set up a time with Healthy Alamance prior to coming in.

Notes: Office space is limited and access to the floor is restricted. Full Time internships (on site) must be set up in advance and be approved by the Health Dept. Students are welcome to complete hours on specific projects and help with community events through coordination with Healthy Alamance.
