Description of Desired Service:
This course offers an introduction to the interdisciplinary practices and professional opportunities connected with museum studies and public history. Students will engage with contemporary issues facing museums, monuments, and aspects of public culture, as well as efforts to engage and better serve broader communities, the destruction and preservation of cultural landscapes, the environmental effects of tourism, and challenge the myths of museums or history as "neutral."
