Sustainable Alamance is a new Non-Profit organization in Alamance County. Our vision is to expand the dialog on community sustainability by adding the human resource to those of economic and natural resource concerns.
Our primary objective is to create jobs and job opportunities for citizens of Alamance County that have criminal histories, and because of that, are effectively shut out from participating in the local economy. When our citizens are released from prison, most have fines to pay, probation fees, attorney fees, and child support. None of these can be paid without income. The alternatives are all too often, a return to prison, a cycle that must be broken.
