Update on Alternative Transportation Contest

Winners from the September Zimride contest have been determined and a new October contest for a $100 gift card is underway.

Everyone that posted a ride on Zimride the month of September was placed into a drawing for a $25 gift card.  Students were placed in one drawing and faculty and staff were placed in another.

The raffle winners are:

  • Martin Kamela – faculty
  • Tony Crider – faculty
  • Matthew Schimenti – student
  • Colby Marvin – student

Raffle winners won a $25 gift card to a local restaurant.

There is another chance to win prizes and reduce carbon emissions this October. Enter your mode of travel on Zimride’s Commute Calendar during October.

Alternative modes of transportation such as carpooling, biking or walking will earn you points. For every 25 points earned, you will be entered into a raffle for one of four $25 gift cards. The person who earns the most points will win a $100 gift card to a local business.

The calendar also calculates monetary and carbon dioxide emission savings based on your commutes. There is even an option to get a weekly reminder to prompt you to fill out the calendar.

You must have or create a Zimride profile to access the calendar. To get started go to http://www.zimride.com/elon/
