Elon’s 4th Annual National Networking Event Series Announced

Beginning March 31, more than 40 cities nationwide will be participating in this event series that supports the networking and professional development of Elon alumni.

Elon University’s 30 alumni chapters and clubs—along with 10-plus markets nationwide—will host events as part of the National Networking Event Series beginning March 31.

Since its inception in 2012, this series has experienced significant growth, going from 16 cities to 32 in 2014 with 1,000-plus attendees, becoming one of Elon’s largest alumni events, topped only to Homecoming and Evening for Elon events with President Leo M. Lambert. This year’s series is expected to be the largest to date.

During the month of April, the National Networking events will provide an opportunity for alumni, parents and friends of Elon to utilize and learn about Elon’s many professional and career resources, interact with speakers to expand their professional knowledge, and create relationships that will enhance their network.

A showcase of Elon resources to kick off each event will feature:

  • Professional headshots that can be used to enhance LinkedIn presence
  • The opportunity to communicate a professional need via The Elon Network on LinkedIn
  • Access to current job openings
  • Information about what the Elon Student Professional Development Center does for alumni
  • Personalized Elon business cards to use while networking

Elon representatives at these events will take time during the program to provide a brief Elon update as well as highlight the brand new Elon Career Mentors program, which offers an opportunity not only for alumni to volunteer alongside 400-plus others as professional resources to Elon alumni and students alike, but also to be mentored and tap into Elon connections whenever needed. Additionally, professional speakers at select events will cover various topics relevant to today’s professional world. Topics may include creating a professional digital identity, marketing yourself across industries or working across the generational gap.

Finally, there will be networking fit for everyone at these events. Attendees will have the opportunity to choose what type of networking they participate in, creating an event that caters to the needs of all in attendance.
