Former VF Corporation executive to serve as LSB Executive-in-Residence

Michael Gannaway, the former vice president of VF Corporation, will share insights and advice with business students.

Michael Gannaway joins the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business in February 2015 as the school’s executive-in-residence.

Gannaway, who recently retired from VF Corporation where he was the vice president of VF Direct/Customer Teams, will advise business students about career options, discuss what the job market is like, and share insights from his 41 years of work experience. Gannaway will also guest lecture in business courses.

“The wealth of knowledge Mike brings will surely make a positive impact on our students,” said Raghu Tadepalli, dean of the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business. “His many years of work experience will provide guidance and insight to students as they move into their careers.”

Prior to joining to VF Corporation as vice president of customer management in 2004, Gannaway worked for Pillowtex Corporation, serving first as president and chief operating officer, and then chairman and chief executive officer.

From 1993 until 2002, Gannaway served in various senior level positions for Sara Lee’s Branded Apparel division, including president and chief executive officer for customer business teams and mega-brand marketing.

Gannaway worked for Revlon, Inc. from 1986 to 1993. During his tenure with Revlon, he rose to become president of department store sales after serving as president of Revlon’s prestige fragrances group and vice president, general manager of Charles of the Ritz for Revlon, Inc.

From 1981 to 1986, Gannaway served as senior vice president of sales for Estee Lauder, Inc.

Gannaway began his professional career as a buyer in cosmetics and as divisional merchandise manager in cosmetics and accessories with Target Corporation.

He has served on the Love School of Business Board of Advisors since 2008 and the Chandler Family Professional Sales Center’s advisory board since 2010.
